Important Notes Before You Start:
- This procedure requires one working ignition key
- The following vehicles must be programmed by an automotive locksmith or dealership:
- 2004-2005 GMC Safari
- 2003-2005 Chevrolet Astro
Programming Procedure
- Close all the doors and make sure the key is out of the ignition
- Insert the working key into the ignition
- Press and hold the door "unlock" button on the master window switch. Do not release until step 9
- Perform steps 5 through 8 quickly
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine)
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position (where you can pull your key out of the ignition)
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (same as step 6 )
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position (same as step 7)
- Release the "unlock" button on the master window switch. This will lock and unlock the doors automatically. This cycle means that the vehicle has entered the programming mode. If the locks do not cycle, then the vehicle has not entered programming mode and you must start procedure over. Remove key from ignition, open drivers door and return to step 1
- Hold "lock" and "unlock" button on the remote simultaneously until the door lock and unlock (cycle) again. This step could take up to 30 seconds
- Repeat step 10 for all remotes that need to be programmed (including any existing working transmitter)
- Turn ignition to On position to exit the programming mode
- Turn ignition to Off position
- Remove the key from ignition and test all remotes to make sure they are all properly programmed
